General Description

•Drive top consumer report (CU) rankings on Samsung products ( washers, dryers and dishwashers)

•By building good relationship with Consumer reports technical personnel in the understanding of testing and changes,

•By development of predictive models for CU score estimates,

•By using benchmark testing, and

•By developing and offering product improvement solutions to R&D development team.

•Support new model readiness assessments by

•Evaluating for performance, user interface (UI), application, and use experience (UX).

•By limited field tests on DV/PV units.

•By third party testing / verification of potential marketing claims.

•Support marketing claims by third party testing and statistical validation.

•Support Samsung Energy/ Environmental strategy definition on Home Appliance products (Washers, Dryers and Dishwashers) by participating and monitoring developments within both governmental (DOE, EPA, CU) and nongovernmental (Energy advocates, CU).

•Lead the product performance and technology development in conjunction with business activities between the North American consumer and new products for Samsung Electronics Company (SEC).

•Provide technical support in the product strategy and line up of Next generation Samsung Washers, Dryers and Dishwashers for NA market considering competitive landscape, regulatory trends and consumer behaviour / expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Benchmark testing and development of predictive models for CU score estimates on washers, Dryers and Dishwashers.

•Develop technical solutions for top CU scores in the different product category.

•New model launch readiness assessments during the DV and PV stage.

•Understand market dynamics by analyzing competitive moves and supports marketing activity through benchmarking and advertising claims of on Washers, Dryers and Dishwashers.

•Support marketing claims by third party testing and statistical validation.

•Support Samsung Energy/ Environmental strategy definition on Home Appliance products (Washers, Dryers and Dishwashers).

•Participate and monitoring developments within both governmental (DOE, EPA, CU) and nongovernmental (Energy advocates, CU) on Washers, Dryers and Dishwashers.

•Supports technical activities for product innovation, new technologies and in defining the Samsung NexGen products,

•Builds strong internal relationships with key personnel in each product category throughout Samsung Digital Appliance Group. marketing(SEA), product planning (SEC) and SEC R&D

Performance Standards

•Rating of Samsung Models by CU ranking process.

•Smooth product launches, free from major design issues.

•Build strong “working” relationships with AHAM, CU, EPA, DOE, DRSM, etc. Foresee regulatory issues and prepare products in advance.

•New product development units accepted for implementation.

Necessary Skills / Attributes

Master’s degree in a technical field, such as mechanical engineering with expertise in technology management and strong laundry focus.

•10+ years of direct people management.

•20+ years of experience in an engineering position within the consumer product sector, preferable in the appliance industry.

•Interaction and involvement with government or independent agencies, such as AHAM,
