Supply Chain Specialist
Greater Boston Area, US - Computer Networking, Telecommunications, Computer & Network Security
Work Location: Sunnyvale, CA - or- Westford, MA

This position will partner closely with Juniper’s internal Supply Chain Management Organization and our external Contract Manufacturing partners to drive Juniper’s materials management strategy. These strategies will be focused around Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management and Asset Velocity.

This position will require knowledge of materials management fundamentals. Position will require ability to effectively communicate with multiple organizations within Juniper as well as Juniper’s external partners and supply base. This position requires strong interpersonal and team skills, conflict resolution, problem solving and decision making skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with GSM team to support contract manufacturing partners for expediting materials
  • Work with Juniper’s contract manufacturers to reduce excess inventory through supply / demand matching of global excess and obsolete inventory; Perform inventory analysis
  • Develop relationships with Juniper’s strategic suppliers
  • Serve as the interface for Juniper contract manufacturing partners on supply related issues
  • Manage SMI programs with suppliers and contract manufacturing partners and suppliers
  • Global escalation point for Semi-Conductor Commodity Shortages
  • Manage strategic component inventory
  • Place purchase orders for strategic component buys
  • Facilitate the contract manufacturers consumption of Juniper owned inventory
  • Perform root cause analysis on excess and obsolete material
  • Provide contract manufacturers direction how to disposition excess and obsolete material
  • Coordinate scrap process with contract manufacturers and 3PL partners
  • Facilitate utilization of E&O across EMS sites and 3PL partners
  • Review aggregate inventory position against supply and make recommendations
  • Direct contract manufacturers sites to balance inventory to mitigate excess
  • Ensure contract manufacturing teams are balancing of the E&O across sites
  • Track/confirm that new PO’s are not being launched into the supply base based on excess findings and directions
  • Provide project coordination and supports for key supply chain projects


  • Bachelors Degree in business or equivalent
  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • 7-10 years inventory, supply chain management experience in a High Technology Mfg. environment
  • Ability to lead multiple projects, ability to influence and work successfully at all levels within a matrix organization
  • Experience working within a global outsourced manufacturing model
  • Strong verbal, written, negotiating and analytical skills
  • Experience with process change and Lean / Six Sigma a plus
  • Experience with SAP a plus
  • Ability to work independently
