Role Summary/Purpose:

The Computational Science and Architectures team delivers next-generation computing technologies that drive the Industrial Internet. We bring together knowledge of computing, data, analytics and networked machines to grow GE's businesses in exciting new ways.

Essential Responsibilities:

We develop advanced computing and decision-making tools to analyze, interpret and utilize data, creating robust software systems, solutions and architectures that will change the way our customers create, deliver and manage their businesses. As a Trusted Computing Engineer, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team that will research and enable the technical business capabilities of GE and its partners by developing computing and security tools and techniques to protect vital assets.

As a Trusted Computing Engineer, you will:

  • Work with GE Businesses and Business Partners in delivering computing solutions to real and theoretical problems

  • Work with technology vendors to benchmark emerging and disruptive innovations for GE application areas

  • Research and develop tools and processes to improve security, privacy, assurance and fault-tolerance of systems

  • Collaborate with world-class talent in many disciplines touched by computing needs

  • Communicate with business leaders, customers, and technology providers

  • Contribute to project proposals and grow new project directions

  • Address the need for high quality architectural designs as hardware/software systems become more complex and interconnected e.g. Industrial Internet


  • Bachelor’s degree in in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline

  • Demonstrated architecture and algorithm execution in the field of trusted computing and/or performance optimization

  • Hands-on programming and implementation skills, as well as potential to drive technical initiatives

  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process

  • Must be 18 years or older
